Term 2 – Jesus

JesusThe second term, between Christmas and Easter, will be spent studying the life and significance of Jesus Christ. The aim is to separate the person of Jesus into two possibilities: one a purely historical figure and the other being the Son of God. No faith position is assumed during the course although attempts are made to see beyond questions of personal faith with the focus ignoring questions of the historical truth of events such as the miracles and resurrection and focussing on the significance of these events for the beliefs of Christians today.

It is hoped that by creating this separation between these two images of Jesus (that is a low and a high Christological account) students will be able to develop level 6 skills in explaining how the life of Jesus can be interpreted in different ways by different Christians today.
